Watford are hoping to agree a deal with Fulham to sign Ghana ace Derek Boateng.
Sky Sports understands that the Hornets have made an approach for the 30-year-old midfielder, who has seen his chances limited since moving to Craven Cottage in the summer.
Fulham head coach Rene Meulensteen is set to sanction the deal, as Boateng is looking for regular first-team football in order to cement his place in Ghana's squad ahead of the World Cup finals.
A number of teams from around the continent have expressed an interest but Watford are hopeful Boateng will elect to stay in England, albeit in the Championship.
"We are looking at a number of options for Derek, and are talking with Fulham to see what the best outcome will be," a spokesman for Boateng's representatives Straight Ace Sports told Sky Sports.
