Sky Sports understands Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe is set to join Ipswich Town on loan until January.
The 20-year-old has made just two substitute appearances for United and is being allowed out on loan again to gain further first-team experience.
He spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Peterborough United and took in a brief spell in the Championship with Barnsley last term.
Tunnicliffe is now poised to move to Ipswich for the first half of the new campaign after also attracting interest from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy has been busy trying to put together a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the Championship this time around.
