Blackburn caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has lavished praise on Jordan Rhodes after the free-scoring striker secured the club's Championship status.
Rhodes collected Rovers' player of the year award on the pitch before Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, where he went on to produce a deft finish for his 27th goal since joining from Huddersfield in August and leave Bowyer breathing easier heading into the final weekend of the season.
"What a fantastic goal, it is the last goal on Ewood for this season, so for Jordan to get it and the manner of it is fitting," he told Blackburn's official website.
"It was a great finish. It was a great ball in but he knew where the goal is, he just flicked it over the goalie's head and it goes in. It was an outstanding finish.
"He's rightly player of the year in my opinion. His job is scoring goals and he has done his job to the highest order.
"A lot of people will have knocked his price tag and how much we paid for him but that has nothing to do with the lad. What he has done is just got on and done his job.
"He's the best finisher I've ever seen in terms of training and what have you. He is so cool and so accurate."
