Coach Andy Garner has set Derby's players the target of winning their remaining two Championship games to match last season's points tally.
The Rams won 64 points during the 2011/12 campaign to finish 12th, their highest placing in five years.
Garner's team are currently 11th in the table with 58 points following Saturday's 3-1 win over Peterborough at Pride Park.
Garner hopes Derby can finish the season on a high with victories at Blackpool and at home to Millwall, and hopefully clinch at top-10 finish in the process.
"There is no way the players are going to relax and think it is job done, no way are we going to allow that," said Garner following the win over Posh.
"We have two more games and we want two more victories. We want to finish on 64 points. That's the number we got last season and it would be great if we could match that total.
"We have got a chance of a top-10 finish and we are going to give everything we've got to try and do it. We want to finish as high as we possibly can."
