Peterborough have signed striker Dwight Gayle on loan from Dagenham until January.
United boss Darren Ferguson had wanted to sign Gayle on a permanent deal next summer but he has brought the striker's arrival forward so that he can provide cover for his forward line in the next six weeks.
"Some business moved forward now with signing of young Dwight Gayle who has joined us till the start of January," Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony told Peterborough Today.
"He is an energetic, pacey, strong, striker.
"Everyone at the club is excited to have Dwight join us and we have no doubt he will be a big fans' favourite.
"Thanks to Dagenham & Redbridge for doing business!"
