Barnsley have secured the services of striker Marcus Tudgay on loan from Nottingham Forest until January.

The 29-year-old has made only two appearances for Sean O'Driscoll's team this season and has not featured since the draw with Huddersfield in August.

With his permanent contract at the City Ground expiring in the summer, his future hangs in the balance and will be hoping he can impress at Oakwell with a view to a long-term move.

Tudgay joined Forest on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in November 2010 before securing a full-time deal in a £500,000 transfer.

Tykes manager Keith Hill will be desperate his new recruit can make an immediate impact with his side hovering one spot above the drop zone after four successive defeats.
