Charlton captain Johnnie Jackson is back in first-team contention for manager Chris Powell after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Jackson pulled up eight minutes into the second half against Blackburn Rovers with the problem, and was forced out of the defeat to Watford and the victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

However, following the two-week international break, Jackson is back to fitness and taking a full part in training.

"Johnnie picked up a Grade 1 hamstring strain against Blackburn," said Addicks physio Erol Umut. "It was only a very minor strain and that has recovered.

"He could have probably pushed himself to be available to travel to Blackpool, but with an international break coming up we would have been stupid to try and rush him back for that.

"We put an extra week's worth of work into him and now he is fully back training with the squad and in contention for as soon as the gaffer sees fit to put him back in."

Winger Jordan Cook, meanwhile, has overcome conjunctivitis, an eye ulcer and a virus in recent weeks, but is also ready to be called upon.

"He was a bit unlucky with his eye ulcer," added Umut. "Then it developed and he picked up a bit of a virus due to it.

"He is back training now and had a run out with the U21s on Tuesday which got him 60 minutes under his belt."
