Bristol City manager Derek McInnes insists everyone at the club has to pull together in order to overcome the recent run of bad results.

McInnes has watched his team win just one match from their last seven games - with the latest setback coming in a 2-0 defeat by Leicester on Saturday.

But the Robins boss believes his players are moving in the right direction, and need the backing of the Ashton Gate faithful to help elevate them from their current position of 17th in the table.

McInnes said: "We need more confidence. We have to work extremely hard as a group, stay tight and show our collective responsibility.

"Our supporters also have a part to play in that. It is important we stay together and work hard to get the best out of the boys.

"We get around each other here and we don't castigate people and point fingers. I would say there is still work to be done, but there is also a lot of optimism."
