Cardiff striker Heidar Helguson is confident he can build on his display against Ipswich and prove his worth at the club.

The 35-year-old scored a brace at Portman Road as Cardiff earned a 2-1 victory, their sixth win in seven games.

And having only found the target twice in his previous 10 games since his summer arrival from Queens Park Rangers, the Iceland international is hoping his performance on Saturday will spark a goal-scoring run.

Helguson said: "It was about time I got a goal or two. I probably haven't scored as many as I would like so it was really good to score two and help the team win.

"I think it was coming for me. We work hard as a team. We have players who can open up opposing teams and will always get chances.

"I hope there is more to come from me and I will certainly be working for that."
