Darren Ferguson saluted hat-trick hero Emile Sinclair believing his all-action approach had unsettled Hull as Peterborough broke their losing run with a 3-1 win.
The striker netted in the 24th and 30th minutes, before wrapping things up - after Jay Simpson had pulled one back - midway through the second half with another composed finish.
"This gives us a platform. It was always going to be a big week for us," he said.
"We knew it would be tough. They had won every game at home, but we know how to win a game. Hard work and team spirit. We showed that.
"But it's one win. We knew we had to counter-attack and Emile gave us the perfect foil. He had a lot of time to think about his first two goals and his decision-making was excellent.
"He gave is an energy up front. I'm really pleased with him."
