Kieran Lee: Ready for debut
Sheffield Wednesday utility man Kieran Lee is relishing his long-awaited debut for the club after joining over the summer.
The 24-year-old has had to wait patiently for his first Owls appearance after making the switch from Oldham, but has been an unused substitute on two occasions.
The former Manchester United trainee has been a victim of the South Yorkshire outfit's early success, with just one defeat in six, but he told Sky Sports that the chance to play a club like Sheffield Wednesday will be worth the wait.
"You know from the history of the club that it is a big club and one that you dream of playing for, but there were a lot of factors in why I chose to join Sheffield Wednesday," he said.
"Obviously, I'd have loved to have started all the games so far, but making my debut will make up for that when my chance comes round.
"It will be a big improvement from what I am used to, with a lot of fans packed into the ground making a good atmosphere.
"I've played at Hillsborough a few times and I always remember thinking that this would be a great place to play your football each week, so I can't wait to pull on the blue and white for the first time."
Lee spent four years with Oldham, making over 100 appearances, and was used in a variety of positions, including midfield and both full-back roles, but he confirmed that he is now concentrating on the right-back slot as his strongest position.
"I think that I will be mainly used as a right-back this season, but obviously if the gaffer wants to utilise me in other areas I would be more than happy to do so.
"I've been playing at full-back for the past few years at Oldham, but I did really enjoy playing in the centre of midfield before that.
"Over the years I have been developed as a right-back, so that is probably my strongest position now."
