Burnley defender Jason Shackell will captain his new side in the upcoming Championship campaign.
Clarets boss Eddie Howe handed the defender the skipper's armband for the 4-1 victory over Altrincham on Saturday.
Shackell only joined the club from Derby earlier this month on a four-year deal.
The 28-year-old's previous clubs include Norwich, Wolves, Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Derby.
"It's Jason's natural role and I think he has settled into it really well," Howe told the club's official website.
"He has everyone's respect here and I think we saw immediately what a good player he is."
