Norwegian defender set to opt for Frankfurt switch due to bonuses

Stale Solbakken admits Wolves look set to miss out on Vadim Demidov because they will not match Eintracht Frankfurt's contract offer. Wolves had a bid of around £1million accepted for the Real Sociedad centre-back but discussions with chief executive Jez Moxey did not go smoothly. The 25-year-old Norway international travelled on to Germany to discuss terms with Frankfurt and Wolves boss Solbakken believes the Bundesliga side made an improved offer for the player. "Wages are a little bit higher (at Frankfurt) but also the bonuses are higher," Solbakken told the Shropshire Star.

"Perhaps the bonus system there was the difference. I think we were pretty close to that one but he had a lot of offers. "We worked hard to try to get him but we wouldn't do it at all costs. "It's no secret we spoke to him but for one reason or another he'll go somewhere else. "I haven't spoken to him for a while, but he should take his time and think it over because he knows what he can get. "But as far as coming here, I don't think the conversation went to plan."
