Long-serving defender not worrying about the money

Bristol City stalwart Louis Carey is ready to sign a new one-year contract at Ashton Gate and is not 'worried about the money'. Barring one season at Coventry City, the 35-year-old has spent his entire career with the Robins and has made over 620 appearances for the club. Carey's future was in doubt until boss Derek McInnes named his retained list last month, but he enjoyed an impressive end to the Championship season. The defender has no desire to change clubs at this stage of his career and is poised to conclude an agreement with the Robins. "I'm a Bristol boy and I love the club and the city," Carey told the Bristol Evening Post. "Financially, the deal is not what I'm used to, but I'm not worried about the money. "In future, more of my money will be performance-related, but I just want to stay here in Bristol."
