Rovers looking to rebuild after mass exodus

Doncaster Rovers have announced 12 players from the squad have been released following their relegation. The list of players released includes first-team regulars Simon Gillett, James Hayter, Sam Hird, Adam Lockwood and John Oster. French forward Fabien Robert is also in the released section after the club said his registration was switched to Doncaster when he joined from Lorient in January, despite information at the time stating the 23-year-old was a loan signing. Rovers' official website states that "discussions are ongoing with some of the released players", completed by James Baxendale, Rachid Bouhenna, James Chambers, Mustapha Dumbuya, Paul Keegan and Damien Plessis. Kyle Bennett, James Husband, Gary Woods, Habib Beye, Chris Brown, James Coppinger, George Friend, Shelton Martis, James O'Connor, Tommy Spurr, Brian Stock, Neil Sullivan and Martin Woods remain with the club, while academy products Jordan Ball, Jonathan Maxted, Andrew McCormick, Patrick Mullen and Liam Wakefield have all been offered terms. Giles Barnes and Oscar Radford left Doncaster when their contracts expired on 6th May, shortly after El-Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda saw their spells with the club conclude.
