Bluebirds boss hopes to have midfielder available for run-in

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay hopes to have Stephen McPhail available for the Championship run-in. McPhail is back in training after being hit by a recurrence of the illness Sjogren's Syndrome which affects the immune system. The 32-year-old has only been able to feature in 10 Championship games this season and Mackay is keen to have the former Leeds man back for the club's promotion push. "His situation changes... but I would love to get him available for the last 10 games," said Mackay. "[I'm] delighted with Stephen McPhail. We are very hopeful he will play a part sooner rather than later. "Stephen is a man. He's a leader. He is a top player. He is someone I really wish I had more of this season."
