Seasiders boss disappointed to miss out on striker

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has confirmed a move for former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler has fallen through. Holloway had hoped to add Fowler to his squad after the 36-year-old impressed during a training stint at Bloomfield Road. Fowler revealed earlier this week that he rejected the club's offer of a £5,000 appearance bonus and just £90 per week if he did not play. Holloway has admitted they could not agree terms with Fowler and that they have now moved on from the deal. "I had a chat with my chairman and I had a chat with Robbie, and we aren't going to get that deal going," Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette. "Karl Oyston's idea of what Robbie could do and how he could do it didn't match up with what Robbie wants. I had a go, but he doesn't feel this club is right for him. "I'd have loved to have got him in as he would have offered us something different. There's no animosity. I really liked him but we have to move on now."
