Trotter eyes Lions survival

The midfielder was on target at Upton Park cancelling out Carlton Cole's opener, only to see defender Winston Reid produce a sublime winning effort to steal all three points for the 10-man Hammers.

However, manager Kenny Jackett was left upset after it appeared that goalkeeper David Forde had been fouled by Julien Faubert in the build up to the winner.

The South London outfit are currently sitting in a precarious position, just four points above the Championship drop zone, but Trotter expects Millwall to kick on.

"That's the way it goes when you're at the bottom. We are at the bottom and they are top and sometimes decisions like that go against you and it falls their way," he said.

"Even so, the strike was incredible. With that, nine times out of 10 - and no disrespect to him - that goes into row Z. But we can't reflect on that, we didn't do enough.

"But there's lots to be positive about. At 11 against 11 we were on top. West Ham only really looked to hit it to Cole and make it stick.

"We played the better football and I am confident we can kick on and push up the league soon."
