Coventry are hoping to add a Premier League striker to their squad in time for next Saturday's trip to Reading. The man masterminding the club's transfer dealings Steve Waggott aims to help manager Andy Thorn in strengthening the Sky Blues' squad, despite already making three signings during the January transfer window. City brought in Alex Nimely and Oliver Norwood from Manchester City and rivals United respectively on loan until the end of the season, while veteran defender Hermann Hreidarsson also signed a permanent deal at the Ricoh Arena. However, although Waggott is pleased with the trio of signings, he has hopes of signing a senior striker as soon as the loan window reopens on February 8 as Coventry look to avoid relegation from the Championship. "I am pleased, but to a point," he told the club's official website. "Alex and Oliver were at the top of our list because they offer something different and give Andy (Thorn, manager) exciting options." He added: "We were talking to a number of Premier League clubs about strikers and will continue to do that in the hope we can land someone to face Reading away on February 11."
