Nathan Doyle has joined Preston North End on a loan contract from Championship outfit Barnsley until January.
The 24-year-old is reunited with North End boss Phil Brown, who signed the midfielder from Derby when he was in charge of Hull.
Doyle chalked up 43 league Barnsley appearances last season and has featured 10 times for the Championship outfit in the current campaign.
A product of Derby's youth system, Doyle made his professional debut against Preston at the age of 16 in 2003.
He goes straight into the Lilywhites' squad for the Saturday's trip to Bury.
