Hull City caretaker manager Nick Barmby is seeing how things 'pan out' at the KC Stadium before deciding whether to accept the job full-time.
The former England international, 37, has taken over first-team affairs at the East Yorkshire club after manager Nigel Pearson returned to Leicester City.
Barmby will now work alongside Stuart Watkiss at Hull and the ex-Leeds, Liverpool and Everton midfielder is not ruling out becoming Pearson's permanent successor.
Pearson had been steering Hull in the right direction and Barmby does not think a lot needs to be done to the team, despite the Tigers losing their last two games.
Proud and honoured
"We're coming in and, I wouldn't say see how we go, but the club have asked us to do it and we've said 'yes, definitely', for the club, but we'll see how it pans out and hopefully we can move forward together as a management team and more importantly as a football team," explained Barmby.
"I'm very proud and was honoured when I was asked. Football is strange. Nigel was going along quite nicely, so we just need to stabilise the club and when Adam [Pearson] and the owners asked me it was a very proud moment.
"I'd do anything for this club and we're in a predicament and we need leadership, so me and Stuart Watkiss have taken over since Thursday and it's our job to get the lads right for Saturday.
"There isn't a lot that's broken at the moment, even though we've lost our last two games. We've played very well in those games and been unfortunate, but the form has been very good."
