Jay Simpson hopes a standing ovation against Ipswich will bolster his chances of making his loan spell at Millwall a permanent move.
The former Arsenal and England Under 21 striker netted twice and played a part in the other two goals in Saturday's 4-1 win, earning him rapturous applause from the Den crowd.
Currently on loan from Hull until January, the 22-year-old is now finding his feet and relishing being a part of the Lions' revived hunt for promotion.
Simpson said: "When I signed for Millwall at the start of the season I hoped it would be for the full season and was disappointed when Hull said it was only until January.
"It's my second time on loan here and I am enjoying myself and want to be a part of their success.
Convinced
"I'm convinced we can push for a place in the play-offs. We have a strong bond as a group and we all fight for each other.
"Three wins in this division can take you from the relegation zone to the play-off places."
Simpson is slowly becoming a favourite of the Lions' faithful, his two goals against Ipswich following a thunderbolt against Brighton two weeks ago.
With three goals in as many games, Simpson is hopefully regaining the form which led him to receive the PFA fans' League One player of the year award in 2008.
Manager Kenny Jacket is certainly taking notice of Simpson's recent good form, saying: "Jay Simpson has progressed well, his fitness has come on and, with that, confidence and it's always good for strikers to score and make goals.
"The start he's made for us has been a good one and the partnership of Jay and Darius Henderson is starting to come together."
