Caretaker delighted with Norwegian winger's impact

Portsmouth caretaker manager Guy Whittingham has been impressed with the recent performances of Norwegian international Erik Huseklepp. The experienced winger signed for Pompey last August and is enjoying his first season in English football. The 27-year-old is in great form at the moment as he helped create two of his team's goals in last weekend's 3-1 win over Doncaster. The temporary Portsmouth boss believes he is a brilliant player and easily understands why he is a fans' favourite at Fratton Park. He said: "Erik comes alive when the ball is at his feet. What we've got to do is get Erik on the ball as often as we can. "He's learning the side of the game where he has to work and get back, especially switching on when possession has been lost. "But when the ball goes to his feet his eyes light up - you can understand why the fans chant his name."
