Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin admits his weekend goal at Burnley was long overdue.
Schneiderlin came on as a second-half substitute and found the net for the first time in two seasons to grab a 1-1 draw for the leaders.
"As everyone knows I haven't scored a lot for Southampton and it's an aspect of my game I'm trying to improve," he said.
"I know there's room for improvement so I try to do more in the box. I knew we had to score to get something and I did that, so I was very happy."
Saints head to Cardiff on Wednesday looking to maintain their lead at the top and Schneiderlin added: "Our focus now is getting a win there.
"I played against Cardiff before and it was a battle so we know it's going to be hard."
