Ipswich manager hoping to land midfielder for free

Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell has told Jimmy Bullard to keep him up to date with his situation after Hull City tried to cancel his contract. The ex-Fulham midfielder could soon be a free agent as the Tigers have begun the process of terminating his lucrative deal at the KC Stadium. Bullard can appeal the club's decision and it remains to be seen whether he may or may not be able to move on shortly. Ipswich had Bullard on loan for the second half of last season and Jewell remains a big fan of the playmaker's services. The former Wigan manager has told Bullard to keep him informed of his developing situation after a deal to join QPR fell through. "I rang Jimmy as soon as I heard the news about his situation at Hull and he told me that there were a couple of Premier League teams in for him and I just said that we'd love to have you here," Jewell told the club's official website. "I think he had a deal lined up to go to QPR which fell through for whatever reason and there are still a few things to be sorted out with Hull but I've told him to keep me abreast with the situation and we'll see what happens."
