Foxes starlet to take in second spell with Rovers

Bristol Rovers have taken Cian Bolger on loan from Leicester for the second successive season. The Foxes starlet spent two months with the Pirates last season, allowing him to make his Football League bow. He made six appearances for Rovers before heading back to the Foxes towards the end of the 2010/11 campaign. The Pirates were impressed enough during that spell to make their move again this summer and have snapped the 19-year-old up on a six-month deal. Meanwhile, the Pirates' pre-season plans have been dealt an untimely blow with the news that Gary Sawyer and Ellis Harrison have picked up knocks.

Soreness

Boss Paul Buckle told the club's official website: "Gary has a groin injury, something he felt at the end of last season and he will be looked at by a specialist this week. "He's a good player, one of the senior pros here, and I'd like to get the problem looked at very quickly. "The worst-case scenario is that he might need an operation. As I said, he did experience a problem last season and although he rested it through the summer, he's experienced some soreness again. "If an operation is needed he will have to have it done quickly. Gary can play left-back or as a left-sided centre-half, and he has a lot of experience, so I'm hoping he won't be out for too long." Harrison, meanwhile, is facing up to eight weeks on the sidelines after slipping on his way home from training on Friday and breaking the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
