New Cardiff City defender Aron Gunnarsson has revealed it was the influence of manager Malky Mackay that made the decision to move to the Bluebirds easy.
The Iceland international signed a three-year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday after leaving fellow Championship side Coventry at the end of last season.
A number of clubs were linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but Gunnarsson revealed he chose Cardiff after speaking to manager Mackay, who replaced Dave Jones as Bluebirds boss last month.
"I've been on holiday a bit longer than most because I've been away on international duty earlier in the summer," the defender told Cardiff's official website.
"But as soon as I got back I travelled down to Cardiff, had my medical and put pen to paper.
"I'd spoken to the gaffer a few times and he seemed really keen to make me a Cardiff City player.
"He told me where he saw me fitting into the team and what he thought I could offer so that made my decision a lot easier."
