Full back wants to do well for Holloway

Championship outfit Blackpool have completed the signing of Matt Hill on a free transfer from Barnsley. The 30-year-old was released by the Tykes at the end of last season when his contract expired. Skysports.com revealed earlier this week that a deal was close with Blackpool and he has now signed a one-year contract at Bloomfield Road with the option of a further 12 months. The full-back is expected to join up with Ian Holloway's squad at their training camp in Portugal. Hill, who also played for Preston and Wolves, said: "These are exciting times and it's great to be back up here. "It's also good family-wise as well because it's not far from where I live. I'm happy to be here and I hope to do well. "The manager tried to get me a long time ago when he was at QPR, but for reasons it didn't happen. I'm grateful now to work with him because he's got plenty of enthusiasm. "He wants to play football and I feel that he can help my game. I'm looking forward to playing here and hopefully I can do well for Blackpool."
