Scunthorpe defender Cliff Byrne is confident he will return to full fitness next season.
Byrne's campaign ended in January due to a back injury, but he is well on the road to recovery and is keen to become a key part of new manager Alan Knill's plans.
The 29-year-old admits he has found it tough during his rehabilitation process, however, he has tried to remain positive.
He told the Iron Player: "I've been out with a back injury since the start of January and it's hard for me, because I wish I could have been out on that pitch helping the team try to stay up.
"It's hard, but you've got to get your head around it and be as positive as you can be around the place, and try to encourage the lads in the games they play in.
"It's been massively frustrating for me on a personal level not being able to contribute, but it's part and parcel of football, and these times make you or break you.
"I have every confidence and belief that I will be back fully fit and raring to go again in pre-season."
