On-loan forward keen to help Scunthorpe avoid relegation

Ramon Nunez is hoping to extend his loan at Scunthorpe United for the rest of the club's battle to stay in the Championship. The Honduras international's initial month-long loan from Leeds United expires after Friday's game against Coventry City, but Nunez is keen to stay at Glanford Park. He scored his first goal for the Iron by grabbing the winner in Saturday's 2-1 success at Crystal Palace which lifted Scunthorpe to within three points of their relegation rivals. With four games of the campaign remaining, Nunez is anxious to be given the opportunity to remain part of Alan Knill's squad. "I am grateful to Scunthorpe for the opportunity they have given me to come here and get some games in," said Nunez in the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "At the moment, I only have one game left on my loan period and we will have to wait and see what happens after that. "But I am happy here at Scunthorpe and I would like to stay and help them stay in the Championship. It is important for them to do that. "And I think with the new manager, the new ideas he has brought in and the players that are here, we can do that."
