Town keeper impresses boss Jewell

Ipswich goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett will be offered a new contract, boss Paul Jewell has revealed. The 27-year-old's current deal is set to expire in the summer but a recent run in the first team has persuaded the Tractor Boys to extend his stay. Lee-Barrett produced a fine display during the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend and Jewell confirmed a new contract is on the cards. "I will be speaking to Arran's agent during the week and we will be offering him a new deal," he said. "He deserves his chance in the side. He has trained well and he was excellent for us on Saturday." Ipswich have the chance to continue their Championship revival under Jewell when they take on Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
