Birmingham boss battles injury worries

Alex McLeish is facing the worst injury crisis of his Birmingham career as he prepares to face Bolton. McLeish could be without 12 players for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final clash, and the situation worsened when David Bentley limped off against Everton on Wednesday. The Carling Cup winners are also in the midst of a relegation battle and with captain Stephen Carr definitely ruled out of the cup clash, the former Scotland manager is desperate for his key men to return. "It must be the worst injury run I've had," said McLeish. "It doesn't make it easy for you because you are only as good as the players you have at your disposal. "You can shape them, organise them and give them tactics but there's no doubt, as Arsene Wenger says, that great players make great managers."
