Midfielder to stay at Derby until end of the season

Derby midfielder Robbie Savage has revealed he has turned down a move to Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps. Savage, who is out of contract at Derby at the end of the season, held talks with Vancouver earlier this month about a possible switch to the MLS. However, after thinking over the move the former Wales international has decided to snub their overtures. "I'm going to stay here," Savage said on Twitter. "Canada was a great option but it was too big a move for my family." Savage is expected to leave Derby at the end of the season with the former Blackburn and Birmingham unlikely to get a new deal at Pride Park.
