Striker reveals delight to skysports.com
Billy Mehmet has shunned a move back to Britain and signed for Samsunspor.
The former St Mirren striker moved to Turkey in the summer on a Bosman transfer, signing for Genclerbirligi.
However, financial issues at Genclerbirligi saw him agree to mutually terminate his contract.
That led to a number of clubs in the SPL and Championship make an approach for him.
However, the 27-year-old has opted to continue his Turkish adventure after agreeing a two-and-half-year deal with Samsunspor.
Speaking to skysports.com, Mehmet said: "I am very happy to be here.
"I am enjoying playing in Turkey and I am pleased I have sealed a deal with such a good club as Samsunspor.
"I am looking forward to helping them to promotion."
