Derby County manager Nigel Clough is expecting defender Russell Anderson to resume full training next week.
Anderson has struggled with injuries this season and tore a groin muscle against Leeds United on the opening day of the campaign.
He returned to make three brief substitute's appearances, but has not played since mid-November due to a hamstring problem.
The 32-year-old is now closing on his comeback and Clough is pleased with the progress Anderson is making.
"Russell is coming on OK and if he progresses in the way he has done then he is down to resume training a week on Monday," Clough told the club's official website.
"He is doing running work at the moment with the medical team and he is expected to step things up again this week."
