Bristol City midfielder Gavin Williams is likely to face three weeks on the sidelines after undergoing a foot operation.
Williams returned to City last week following a spell on loan at Yeovil Town, but will not be involved for the club over the New Year period.
Robins boss Keith Millen confirmed the surgery and says it is not a long-term problem for the 30-year-old.
"It was a minor operation and nothing too serious. It was just something that Gavin needed fixing," Millen told the club's official website.
Surplus to requirements at Ashton Gate, Williams will hope to regain full fitness in time to earn another loan move before the end of January.
Williams had made 11 appearances during his time at Yeovil and has not featured for City since the 3-3 draw with Barnsley in August.
