On-loan striker Rowan Vine could return to Queens Park Rangers next month without having played a game for Brentford.
The forward has yet to make an appearance since linking up with the Bees three weeks ago as he was first lacking match fitness and has since suffered a calf problem in training.
Vine's loan at Griffin Park expires on January 4 and manager Andy Scott said: "It's going to be touch and go whether he gets to that fitness level.
"It's unfortunate, but we can't forego what the lads do every day.
"We need our players to train 100 per cent, but by the way the players are performing at the moment, anyone would struggle to get in the team no matter who they are."
