Doncaster Rovers are optimistic Martin Woods will return from a groin injury for Friday's game at home to Middlesbrough.
Woods has missed Rovers' last six Championship games with the injury, but has now returned to full training.
The 24-year-old's presence in midfield has been missed and assistant manager Richard O'Kelly is keen to have Woods in contention for Boro's visit.
"Martin has had a couple of full training sessions and hopefully by the end of the week he'll be up and running and involved on Friday," O'Kelly told The Star.
"It will be good to have Martin back in the squad. He's a good athlete and I think you need people like him who can get around the pitch in the Championship.
"He's also got a good left foot which helps the balance of the side and he's very motivated. The more players like that you can have in the side, the better."
