Bristol City boss Keith Millen has revealed the recent cold snap has held up Nicky Maynard's return from a knee injury.
Maynard has been sidelined since hurting his knee in pre-season and had been targeting a first-team comeback before Christmas.
The striker was pencilled in to play in a behind-closed-doors game against Wolves on Tuesday, but the freezing conditions have seen the match called off.
Millen is pleased with the progress last season's leading goalscorer is making and is waiting for a suitable opportunity to give Maynard a game.
"It looks as though Nicky will have to build up his fitness on the training ground," said Millen.
"He is still making good progress and the medics are pleased with his knee. But when you have been out for as long as he has, you need games to rediscover match sharpness.
"It's a case of waiting for the weather to improve and then seeing what we can sort out for Nicky. In the meantime, he will continue to train and build up his strength and fitness that way."
