Injured striker Nicky Maynard is optimistic he will be back for Bristol City within the next few weeks.
The 23-year-old has not played a game for the Robins since incurring a knee ailment during the final game of last season.
Maynard, who was City's top goalscorer last term, is targeting a return in the reserves with his rehabilitation going according to plan.
And the former Crewe frontman is confident he will be able to give manager Keith Millen a timely boost ahead of the busy festive period.
"I've always said I'll be back before Christmas and the way things are going I'm way on schedule for that," said Maynard.
"Hopefully in a few weeks time I can get a reserve game under my belt."
