Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is hoping to maintain the positive progress in his recovery from a serious knee injury.
The highly-rated Irishman underwent reconstructive surgery in the summer to repair the damage which wrecked his season last term.
He is not expected to return until some time in the New Year, but has been working hard on a programme of rehabilitation.
McCann has been given the go-ahead to step up his training programme and is aiming to continue on the road to a first-team comeback.
"I was basically in and out and he was really pleased with what he saw," said McCann.
"He said he was really surprised at how well it's doing. There's a lot of muscle come back there already, which is probably the main thing I have to work on.
"It's going really well and hopefully that continues."
