Cliff Byrne is confident new loan signing Freddie Sears' experience of playing in the Premier League will benefit Scunthorpe United.
Sears has joined the Iron on a month's loan from West Ham United and has started the club's back-to-back away wins over Preston and Watford.
Scunthorpe skipper Byrne has been impressed by the striker's impact and feels Sears has been a breath of fresh air since coming to Glanford Park.
Byrne told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "He has only been here a week, but he has settled down really quickly. He is a bit of a jack-in-the-box. There is a spark about him, he is quick and direct.
"He also has experience of playing at the highest level in the Premier League. No matter how short that experience may be it will stand him in good stead and hopefully we will get the benefit of it.
"We now have some stiff competition for places in that area up front and that can only bode well for us."
