Doncaster Rovers are considering a move to sign former Barnsley defender Dennis Souza at the end of a trial spell. The Brazilian is currently contracted to Al-Saliya Sports Club in Qatar, but has spent the past two weeks training with Doncaster. Rovers have been hit by an injury crisis in defence and O'Driscoll is weighing up whether to offer a contract to Souza. "He's just come in and trained," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "It's his second week, so to be fair to him we need to make a decision pretty quick. "He's been to Qatar playing, so there is the rigour of international clearance. However, we've not really discussed anything financially. "It's another centre-half; he's a left-sided centre-half. We've almost got too many centre-halves, but can't keep any of them fit. "It's plugging a gap that we don't really want to plug, because financially it costs us. We could really use that resource somewhere else, but he is a possibility at this minute in time." Souza spent two seasons with Barnsley, making 87 appearances for the club before leaving Oakwell in 2009.
