Tigers stopper plays down calf injury

On-loan defender Anthony Gerrard insists that he will play through the pain for Hull City. The 28-year-old is currently at the KC Stadium on a season-long deal from Cardiff but has a calf injury that could require surgery in the future. However, the former Walsall man is going to suck up the pain and put in his usual performances as the Tigers look to climb up the Championship table. "People work 12 or 14 hour shifts so if I can bear a little pain or do certain things then that's what I've got to do," he said. "Certain things I do are painful but we get paid a lot of money to kick a bit of leather around." Nigel Pearson's side have made a slow start to the season and will be hoping to kick-start their campaign when they take on Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.
