QPR boss Neil Warnock admits that including Martin Rowlands on the bench against Leicester was a last resort as he does not want to rush the midfielder back from injury.
Warnock admitted he did just that at the weekend when he risked putting the former Rangers captain on the bench for the 2-0 win at the Walkers Stadium.
Rowlands has been out for nearly a year with damaged cruciate ligaments and barely half a reserve game into his return, got the call from Warnock.
"He was the last senior player available. All the others are injured and he could only have played a cameo 20 minutes - if that," the Rangers boss told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle.
"But the other thought in my mind was to give him a psychological boost by bringing him with us. He deserved it after all his hard work in rehab."
