Whites boss happy to bring in free agent

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has expressed his delight at bolstering his midfield options with the addition of Amdy Faye. The former Charlton and Newcastle man was on the lookout for a new club after leaving Stoke and impressed Grayson in training. Faye has now signed a three-month deal at Elland Road and Grayson believes the 33-year-old will give him a much-needed defensive midfield option. Grayson is not ruling out securing the Senegal international on longer terms should he impress between now and the New Year.

"Amdy did what we expected he could do and we're pleased," Grayson told the club's official website. "He's been training with us all this week and we sorted things out on Thursday morning. He's an experienced player who has played at the highest level and he is proven. "He's a different type of player to the midfielders we have here and he is a good addition to the squad. "He is short on fitness but that will come with time. He's here until January initially and we'll see how things go."
