Keeper sixth former Sunderland player to rejoin old boss at Ipswich

Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has raided former club Sunderland once again to sign keeper Marton Fulop. The 27-year-old Hungary international has signed a two-year deal with the Tractor Boys after switching for an undisclosed fee. The 6ft 6in keeper could now make his Ipswich debut at Middlesbrough in the Championship opener on Saturday after becoming the sixth former Sunderland player to sign for Keane at Portman Road. Fulop follows former Black Cats Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter into the club on a permanent deal, while Keane has previously secured the services of Daryl Murphy, David Healy and Jack Colback on loan. Keane originally signed Fulop for the Black Cats from Spurs in 2007 and the keeper went on to make 50 appearances for the Wearsiders, including 14 last term. But he has slipped down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light and finished last season on loan at Manchester City. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has now deemed Fulop surplus to requirements as he seeks to bring in Joe Hart on loan from Eastlands.
