Chambers and Oster to miss Preston date

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has been dealt a double injury blow prior to the start of the new Championship season. O'Driscoll will be without stricken duo James Chambers and John Oster for his side's campaign opener against Preston on 7th August. Both Chambers and Oster have undergone surgery on niggling knee injuries that have kept them out of Rovers pre-season friendly preparations. It was decided an operation was the only way to clear up the problem, and after going under the knife on Thursday afternoon, the two players are expected to spend six weeks on the sidelines. The duo had been due to take part in a tournament in Devon but were sent back to South Yorkshire for scans. The surgery went successfully and the injured team mates will now begin their rehabilitation with Rovers' medical staff.
