Steve Coppell has confirmed that Bristol City have opted against giving trialist striker John O'Flynn a contract at the club.
O'Flynn joined the club on their pre-season tour of Sweden and impressed Coppell by scoring a goal in three appearances.
However, after Coppell received an upbeat bulletin on Nicky Maynard and Danny Haynes, he says there is no room for another striker.
"John came away with us and did very well," Coppell told the club's official website.
"However, the good news we received about Nicky Maynard and Danny Haynes - that they don't need surgery - means opportunities for John were limited.
"The progress these two are making means we will not be taking our relationship with John any further and we wish him well for his future career."
