Lee Trundle is keen to return to Swansea on a permanent basis after being released by Bristol City.

Striker would be happy to end career with former club

Striker Lee Trundle is keen to return to Swansea City on a permanent basis this summer after being released by Bristol City. The former Swans legend returned to the club last season on loan and almost helped them secure a play-off place, only to miss out on the final day of the season. The 33-year-old's frustrating three-year spell with the Robins came to an end earlier this month when he was released and he told skysports.com that he would like to finish his career with the Welsh outfit. "I'm still waiting to hear back from Swansea and I'm set to meet with them for talks this weekend, so hopefully I will be able to get something done with them. "If not, then I will have to take a little look around and see what is out there for me.

Wait

"I've said before that Swansea is a club that I'd like to be at and it is a place where I'd like to finish my career, but things happen in football that change things. "I will wait to see what Swansea say and take it from there." The Swans missed out on the play-offs on the final day of the season after a goalless draw against Doncaster was not enough to oust Blackpool in the race for sixth place. Trundle admits that it was a bitter pill to swallow for the club after occupying a play-off berth for the majority of the campaign. "It was disappointing because we had been up there pretty much all season, so to slip out in the last few games was very frustrating for us, especially with the results going well for us," he admitted.
